NRIG Scholarships & Grants Program

NRIG supports an annual Scholarships and Grants Program. The application process for 2018 is now closed. Please check back again in January 2019 for the opening of next year’s Scholarships and Grants Program.

Each year NRIG supports an annual scholarship and research grants program up to $8,000.00.  The scholarships and grants are open to NRIG members whose applications demonstrate their scholarship and academic potential, the ability to work with others, leadership potential, nursing expertise and professional involvement.

NRIG SCHOLARSHIP - DEADLINE – MARCH 31, 2018 at 11:59PM

Two NRIG Graduate Scholarships valued at $1500 each will be awarded to an NRIG member currently enrolled in a PhD program (preferably nursing). Members who have previously received an NRIG Scholarship (within the past 5 years) are not eligible to apply. Applicants must be a member of NRIG for a minimum of 2 years.

NRIG RESEARCH GRANT - DEADLINE – MARCH 31, 2018 at 11:59PM

Two NRIG Research Grants valued at $2000 each are be awarded to an NRIG member who is currently a New Investigator (defined as a postdoctoral fellow or a researcher who has obtained their MN or PhD within the last 5 years). Members who have previously received an NRIG Research Grant (within the past 5 years) are not eligible to apply. Applicants must be a member of NRIG for a minimum of 2 years.

Scholarship and Research Grant winners must agree:

1) Submit a bio and description of research project (approx. 100 words) and photo which will be used in the 2018 spring edition of the NRIG newsletter

2) Submit an update on their research progress (approx 250 word) for submission to the 2019 spring edition of the NRIG newsletter (due date March 31, 2019). 

NRIG AWARD (1 X $1,000)  - CLOSING DATE JANUARY 31, 2018

Note: this award is administered through Registered Nurses Foundation of Ontario (RNFOO). The purpose of this award is to support a graduate nursing student who is in the process of completing thesis research. Preference will be given to Master’s level students. Applicants must be members of NRIG for a minimum of two years and have a completed research proposal. NRIG encourages the winner of the award to attend the RNFOO Gala.
